Not only was this beneficial for improving the healthcare of the local population, it stimulated the local economy, creating one thousand new jobs. From the year 2011 onwards a day ward and catheter-suite were established for the community. Rather than focusing entirely on one aspect of his area of expertise, Dr. Asif Qasim handles many responsibilities, allowing him to positively affect the health and wellbeing of as many people as possible.

Dr. Asif Qasim has produced the peer-to-peer learning model with a view to helping health practitioners to exchange ideas and expertise with each other easily and effectively. Beginning his career in cardiology in the UK, Dr. Asif Qasim first studied at the University of Cambridge. From there he moved to Milan for a fellowship in interventional cardiology.
